Job Description

Essential:

  • To lead and manage on a day to day basis our processing plant based in Haverfordwest. This includes production, despatch and quality
  • To manage the team of operational staff connected with production including the areas of production, despatch and quality. This will include recruitment, training, development and facilitating performance management
  • To plan and schedule for production; managing staff rotas, ensuring adequate and appropriate cover at all times against production volume
  • To collaborate and communicate effectively, reporting daily on production performance and order completion times
  • To ensure and sustain business continuity being aware of the customer, market and competitive demands
  • To liaise with and support the site Transport Manager and the Operational Manager at our cold store distribution depots
  • To ensure legislative, accreditation, quality and general good practice standards are achieved by being “inspection ready” every day. This will be achieved by effective management of the managers leading in these areas
  • To promote a culture of safety and staff engagement through coaching and mentoring and inspirational leadership
  • To champion new business opportunities from the top down

Candidate profile

  • An inspirational and resourceful senior manager with a proven track record of delivery through leadership
  • A technical, process, production led background ideally from an area such as food manufacturing, pharmaceutical, distribution, logistics, defence
  • Understanding of the dairy industry preferable but a strong general commercial awareness essential whether through qualification, experience or both
  • A confident, informed decision maker, demonstrating resilience by making a personal impact
  • Visible proven leader capable of supporting and aligning with cross functional teams
  • The ability to influence and motivate managers, taking responsibility through periods of change
  • Strong people management and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative manager with the ability to build a strong trusted relationship with the wider management team and business owners
