Job Description

• To set up any equipment required for a planned run against the set plan
• To ensure line speeds against the plan are adhered to
• To ensure the correct Dwell times are achieved against the planned product
• To ensure the correct temperatures are achieved against the planned product
• To follow the plan
• Follow up repairs or need for replacement parts to ensure the equipment is safe to use/ mark as faulty if required. Communicate actions with Team Leader/Supervisor/ Manager
• Report directly to the Production Team Leader and be a part of the Production Team. You will manage the day to day operation of packaging/depositing machines in production, on a shift basis and assist the Team Leader to achieve all operational K.P.I’s driving continuous improvement.
• Ensure the safe and effective running of tools, packing machines lidding machines, printing equipment, depositors, and any other machinery associated with the running of a production line
• To ensure all company food safety policies are adhered to
• Regularly monitor any machinery in use ensure it is working within acceptable limits as well as carry out basic fault finding and repairs and reporting any maintenance issues in a proactive manner to avoid production downtime;
• Keeping the equipment clean
• Work quickly and accurately with correct specifications for pack size and date coding;
• Assist in ensuring a safe working environment is maintained
• Accurate and timely completion of documentation
• Ensure compliance of clean as you go / good housekeeping standards are achieved
• Contribute to improving quality standards
• Contribute to amending standards where applicable
• To ensure weight control is adhered to
• Identify and inform team leader / supervisor / manager of product, equipment and process issues
• Attend training courses and meetings as necessary, to maintain standards and assist in carrying out the job role efficiently
• Provide cover in other areas in times of sickness and holidays when requested by the shift manager / supervisor/TL – Provide cover in other areas in times of sickness and holidays when requested by the shift manager / supervisor/TL – To work on the Production Line as and when required. Sometimes this may be all shift, sometimes for short periods
• Comply with training given
• To follow any reasonable management requests
• Ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance and general cleanliness to comply with statutory and company regulations, wearing company uniform as specified
• To report any incidences of absence promptly and according to the company sickness procedure. Complete a BTW form on return
• To work offline and overlook 2 lines to ensure both lines stay on plan
• Follow up repairs or need for replacement parts to ensure the equipment is safe to use/ mark as faulty if required. Communicate actions with Team Leader/Supervisor/ Manager
• To wear PPE as appropriate to the task and training
• To ensure products are the correct weight as per PMS
• To ensure the correct product is set up as per B1 code (A B1 code used to identify the component vs. the Product Monitoring sheet. A Product Monitoring Sheet is a document that has all the information about the run on it)
• To complete HACCP procedures and to complete paperwork as required against their training
• To ensure printed dates are correct on all equipment including Linx Printers and Altech printers
• To multi skill in all aspects of the MM role, including Potwash (Disassembly of equipment/ cleaning/assembly/maintaining of equipment in the Potwash area in High Care – predominantly depositors) and Tooling (Disassembly of equipment/ cleaning/assembly/maintaining of equipment in the Tooling area in High Care – predominantly tools for the Proseal)
• To handover effectively to the oncoming team

Additional Information

Days = Mon to Friday 40 hours: 6am-2pm
Afternoons = Mon to Thurs 32 hours: 2pm to 10pm
