Stand in Team Leader (Production)

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract – Monday – Friday on a rotating weekly shift pattern of 06:00am-14:00pm / 14:00pm-22:00pm

Established in 1996, Nimbus Foods rests in the heart of the Welsh mountains, and manufactures high quality inclusions, decorations, and toppings for the food industry from its 50,000 square foot state of the art nut free production facility in Dolgellau. We are one of Europe’s leading innovators and manufacturers of inclusions, and work with the world’s best-known brands.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Stand in Team Leader to join Meadow Foods at our Dolgellau site based in North Wales. As we continue to grow, develop, and enhance our site, we require a passionate Stand in Team Leader to support the Shift Manager.

What will the role entail?

Working alongside the Production Shift Manager, your duties will include, but not be limited to;

  • Overseeing routine production activities and ensuring the smooth running of processes on the production floor
  • Engaging, motivating, and supporting the development of the manufacturing team
  • Troubleshooting and solving issues that arise on a production floor and ensuring a safe and clean production workspace
  • Regularly checking the machinery and checkpoints to ensure safe and efficient workflow
  • Driving compliance by ensuring authorised operators are following procedures by highlighting irregularities
  • Downtime at or better than budget – this includes performing changeovers to budget or better, while keeping any other downtime to less than budget
  • Team skills matrix maintained and checked on monthly basis to ensure full compliance. Any GAPs identified and highlighted to Operational Change Lead/Nightshift Area Lead
  • Thorough focus in ensuring that direct reports have full training provided to ensure compliance with H&S, consistency in processes and competency in delivering the best results for the business
  • Support the development of new production ideas and product improvement processes

What will I need to be considered for this role?

  • Excellent organisational skills to support the planning of production schedules and ensure the available materials and equipment are prepared
  • Strong analytical skills to determine problems within the production process and take appropriate action
  • Good time management skills to minimise downtime and ensure a team work efficiently
  • The ability to cope with pressure and make sound decisions quickly
  • A firm understanding of Health & Safety regulation
